Karon Winston joined Lutheran Towers in 2016 and serves as the Director of Operation and Administration. Karon holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human services from Clayton State University as well as a Master of Health Administration, with a focus in Gerontology from the University of Phoenix.
With over 15 years of social service and management experience working within communities of people of all ages, races, gender, sexual orientation, culture, and socioeconomic backgrounds, Karon takes pride in being a strong advocate and a servant leader for championing the rights of society’s most vulnerable members. Her professional interests focus on respecting the dignity and welfare of our elders and acting with integrity, honesty, genuineness, and objectivity. She is the current Director of Operation and Administration for Lutheran Towers, a 15 stories senior community, for low-income elders 62+, located in the heart of midtown Atlanta.
Karon is the current Advisory Board Chair for Georgia Institute on Aging, the education and training division for Leading Age Georgia.
Karon is also a member of Leading Age National, SAHMA, Georgia Center for Non-Profits. She was also recognized as an up and coming leader in the field of Aging by Leading Age Georgia, via LeadingAge Georgia Next graduate. Karon is a recent recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Service Award awarded by LeadingAge Georgia.
